The background of the insert of the CD cover is the same doorway used throughout, this establishes a connection between the video, and magazine advert. It also creates a link from the front of the CD cover.
We decided to do a shot of the male standing further behind and the female more at the front; this may establish the fact that the female is more dominant. This makes the audience intrigued to see what actually happens in the video. The lyrics are given to the audience, all they need to do is link them to the video. The male is wearing the same clothing worn throughout the magazine advert and the CD cover. This makes the audience familiar with the character as they have already seen him before. His facial expressions are also that of a typical teenager; who doesn’t have a care in the world. We thought it would be good if he could look up towards the sky and away from the female as this adds emphasis of him being an individual and not just relying on the female. Overall his posture is good and that of a typical teenager which adds more emphasis and draws the audience in. The female is dressed in the same clothing as well, and her facial expressions show she is clearly happy, she has half a smile on her face, as if she’s in some way shy. This is stereotypical of a teenage girl; which is why we chose to do it like this. Her posture is somewhat the same as a typical teenager as well which adds more emphasis. The overall impression created is good for both the male and female, this makes the audience interested. We thought it went well with the finishing appearance.
We chose to put the lyrics of the song on the insert just to advertise it a bit more, this makes the audience aware of the actual song, and what is going on. The font we used was the same as the font we used throughout the whole video, magazine advert and the rest of the CD; this connects the three together, because the audience is then aware and familiar with the text and can furthermore familiarise themselves with it.
The image overall comes across as strong, with many techniques used to create it this way. The audience is drawn in from all angles, there aren’t just set places the eyes will look due to the way it’s been centred. This adds that extra detail for the audience, and makes them eager to learn more. It draws in the feelings and emotions in some way as well making them feel involved.
We thought it was wise to add the naturalistic colours in the background as well and the foreground of the image to add more emphasis to the insert as a whole. This came across as quite good, the audience will be more drawn in, the colours are there and immediately catch the audiences eye which is an advantage.
The use of the font over the whole picture was a good technique. We thought this was ideal and added the ‘finishing touches’ to the inside of the CD cover. The fact that the words are part of the chorus and in the lyrics says it all. This brings the audience in, and emphasises the chorus of the song further. We thought it would be good to make it so it’s quite faint so as not to ruin the actual picture.
