The black outline on the front of the CD cover adds emphasis to the cover, this makes it look more attractive to the audience, and allows it to stand out and it’s made it bold and outlined the picture as a whole.
The use of graffiti in the back ground is added yet again in the CD cover as it shows the image of typical teenagers. This relates well to the video and the image that we are trying to put across of young youth. It also goes with the colour scheme we have decided to use which is natural.
The male is facing the opposite way to the female, this shows the audience there is some sort of connection between them both. For those who are familiar with the video will recognise this straight away however the audience who aren’t familiar with the video, will still be able to make a consistent connection between the CD cover, the magazine advert and the film. This is due to the fact that we have been consistent throughout all three, for example the same fonts, the same background, and the adding of the graffiti. The clothing is the same as the magazine cover which again establishes them bothThe use of the wall in between both the characters was a clever technique. We thought it would be ideal to separate the male and female by the wall on the front page of the CD cover to make the audience aware of some sort of connection between the two of them, but not totally give it away. Also the fact that they are facing against each other gives a typical stereotypical role of a typical teenager. It adds emphasis, the audience look at it straight away as it’s in the middle of the page however it isn’t the centre of attention because as the audience look at it, the view of the characters takes place.
We decided to put the name of the song at the bottom of the CD cover; this is because it’s not entirely the albums name. It makes the audience aware of the song that’s in the album. Also the font size etc is the same.
The female is facing the opposite way to the male, this shows the audience there is some sort of connection between the two of them, however it is yet to be seen what this connection is (if audience aren’t aware of the video) The posture of the female shows her attitude which is stereotypical as it’s the way I ‘typical teenager’ would stand. This will attract our target market more easily because they find it looks appealing. The clothing worn is the same as the clothing worn in the magazine advert, this is to establish the characters and make the audience more familiar with them.
We decided to use the same font and writing style for the CD cover, magazine advert and video. This forms a link between the three, due to them being the same design, colour and size. This makes the audience more interested in the product as it catches their attention, and looks attractive.
